For Force sake... I cannot believe that some people are acting so childish about the changes for the Star Wars Blu-Ray. Of all the changes I've seen, the Vader one is the worst. Obi Wan's Krayt dragon call? It works for me. A dug in Jabba's palace? Just another link between the Original trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy. Making the entrance to Jabba's palace bigger? It was originally a monastery.

Was I mad about Vader screaming NO in Return of the Jedi? Yes. (I felt the same way when Greedo shot first in the special editions, But I got used to that. Just like I got used to seeing Hayden Christensen at the end of Return of the Jedi. And I'll get used to this.

And it isn't like George Lucas is going out and hunting down all the old copies of the original trilogy. (Like he would want to with the Holiday Special. ha) I have the original trilogy on VHS (The "One last time" copy) The Special Editions on VHS, The 2004 Special Editions, and the 2006 Special Edition/Original Edition DVD's. (That's just part of my film collection) So, if my children or grandchildren want to see the version I first saw (in 1995) I'll go and bring out the dusty VCR (I will still own one) and watch the films with them.

In the last three days as I've been reading these comments about the changes to the Blu-Ray, and seeing the crap that some "Fans" have been saying (Even going after one of George's children on twitter.) For the first time in a long time... I feel bad to be called a Star Wars fan. To see the childish way some people have been acting about these changes... It's just sad.

And I'll be the first to admit, I've done my share of saying things about the "Wars" (I know that Jar Jar was supposed to be a comedic character in Episode I, and I liked him when I was younger. Now, not as much, but I don't hate him) But... When people threaten a man, and his family just because they are bitter about these changes, that goes over the line.

I'm sure there will be some jerks who buy the blu-ray's, take them home and make a youtube video of them smashing the discs. And I have this to tell them... If you hate the fact that George Lucas has made some changes to the Blu-Ray's... DO NOT BUY THEM! Let someone who will enjoy the changes buy them, and share them with his/or her children or friends.

If it wasn't for George Lucas, My Dad wouldn't have gotten the original trilogy on VHS, and I never would have made a connection with my father, If it wasn't for George Lucas, I wouldn't have the friends I have now, and if it wasn't for George Lucas... I wouldn't want to be a writer. (Am I attributing to much to GL? Maybe.) But, the Star Wars films changed my life in more ways then I can even begin to list.

Wow... This was a long post... that's new.

Yeah, I agree with what you posted. While I, along with my dad, prefer the original versions, I think that fandumbs (As tv tropes would call it,) tend to get too dramatic. Threatening the people who were involved or relatives of said people is definitely crossing the line.
